Breakfasts are of the simple, Moroccan variety and include: Eggs, freshly baked semi-leavened bread accompanied by jam, peanut butter, preserves, argan oil. and a selection of seasonal fruits. The Orange juice is freshly squeezed and the freshly ground coffee is excellent.

Breakfast is served in the family sized dining room or on the roof terrace with panoramic views across the straights of Gibraltar...the perfect way to start the day.

Afternoon Tea
After a hard days sight-seeing or bargaining in the souks what better way to relax than with a traditional Moroccan tea, we offer a delicious selection of home baked cakes and traditional pastries.

Dinner
If you'd prefer to eat out one night, head along to the Minzah Hotel for a drink and dinner. The music and dancing is a bit cheesy but the setting and atmosphere make for a special evening.

Dinner at La Tangerina is a more traditional, home cooked, family type of experience. Evening meals might kick off with a soup – harira (spicy meat and chickpeas), pea with mint or perhaps cream of courgette – followed by a lamb, chicken or fish tagine or perhaps Farida’s mother’s homemade pastilla (pigeon or chicken pie). There will be a fresh fruit salad or oranges with cinnamon for desert and coffee is included.

We only prepare to order and can cater from 2 to 20 people, but please reserve in advance. La Tangerina 3 course dinner is 250 Dhms per person.

The local Cuisine.
Eating is such an important part of visiting any new place or culture and Tangiers has a fantastic selection of traditional, seafood and international restaurants to suit all budgets.

Here are some dishes you are sure to see in many restaurants:

Harira - This is a mouthwatering hearty soup made of chick-peas, it is eaten every day to break the fast during Ramadan.

Zalouk - a traditional spicy aubergine based dip served warm with fresh bread.

Tajines are cooked in their namesake traditional clay pot which is the basis for much of Moroccan cuisine. Lamb or chicken is slow cooked with the freshest vegetables, sometimes prunes or raisons and other spices to make a delicious stew.

Couscous - Morocco is synonymous with couscous and Tangiers is no exception - It's considered to be a traditional family meal enjoyed by many families on a Friday.
If you are in a restaurant you may have to order it in advance for it to be prepared properly, but we advise waiting till Friday and then you will find it in many restaurants.
Coussous comes with a variety of vegetable and meat toppings, normally chicken, mutton and roast vegetables.

Brouchettes - You'll see people eating Brouchettes on the streets all over Tangiers. They're basically kebabs with various kinds of steak or swordfish along with a wide array of other ingredients.

Pastilla - This dish is made of pigeon meat, rice and egg and covered in a sweet filo pastry. It sounds a bit strange, but it's incredibly tasty and very very filling.
